Do y'all ? Was taught it was just good manners and showed respect to kinda clean you table up a lil at a restaurant before you leave.Nothing crazy just stack the empty plates , put the cupsans forks together together. The servers always seemed to appreciate it .

Some of the restaurants out here like you to bus your own table.

Depend on the server if they are attentive to empty coffee cups and coke glasses without the need to ask and are otherwise good servers will stack plates but if service is crap no way

A question was asked and answered honestly with the reasoning behind it. Regardless if you agree or disagree there is no place for sharky coments. This is why so many threads turn to crap and here get zaped and great example of why our country is circling the drain.

Respect and ability to have open discourse is necessary for a society to thrive.

1st job was a bus boy, I seperate the sliver ware, cups, plates and trash. Pile it is nice and neat pile on Corner of the table. However if you have a good wait staff you dont have many plate or anything to pile.

At fast food restaurants I always take my garbage and tray to the garbage can and clean up after myself.

At family restaurants we’ll stack our plates together and pile up cutlery together on a plate.

A lot of times the server already clears our plates before we can stack them up though.

It is generally not proper etiquette to stack plates at a restaurant . I expect the server or busser to clear the plates before I leave especially if having desert. To not do so is actually rude on the staff 's part. You are tipping for service. Now at fast food restaurants, yes you clear the table as they technically do not have wait staff.
