The more I work with it, the more I enjoy the smell of skunk. Smelling skunk on a snowy trapline in northern Maine is probably my happy place. Beaver castor is a close second, followed by muskrat glands.

Conservation begins on the trapline.

Fresh red fox urine in the snow on a chilly morning.

It’s a toss up between a Rutted up Buck Mink or a spring male rat.

I like castor, skunk, and BTO. I guess I'm weird though, tonquin doesn't do that much for me. Everybody talks like they can't keep from smelling the real stuff repeatedly, and while it smells all right to me, I don't get any urges to keep smelling my finger or anything if I get some on me. Castor on the other hand, I find myself smelling my hand repeatedly when I get some on me.
