A feller from church took a fishing trip in Alaska and brought back some halibut. He said it was all right. Was surprised because I've always heard it was the best. Of course he didn't offer for me to take any off his hands. lol

Pacific halibut is unlike any of fish in flavor and texture, not even slightly comparable to any sort of flunder I've ever eaten.
I would be wary buying it very far from it's source, or even just buying it period; catch it yourself. Longliner halibut boats are allowed to keep it on ice for as long as 10 days before delivering it; hard to tell how long it's been out of water before you actually buy it.
At least that's what the regs userd to be, maybe they've changed them.

I will eat halibut,flounder, ling cod and any wild caught salmnon I've ever tried. My fav is whatever I'm eating at the moment.
