Ok guys I need help. I'm having issues with culturing eggs. The first time I did a small batch in a spaghetti jar and it turned out great. I filled jar about 2/3 full, shook it up good, and put in my garage between 55 and 75 degrees. Id shake it about once a week and after about 3 weeks it became a whitish, creamy, custard like, sweat smelling lure base. I added sodium benzoate and added banana oil and have a really nice fox/ skunk lure.
Jump ahead today and I have been unable to replicate. I have had probably 10 batches go bad on me. They start out great and then for some reason at about week two they have turned rancid. I have researched here and the archives and it seems like most info is for large batch.
I haved moved jars inside at a more stable temperature. I have tried not shaking as much. Shaking more. Venting jars. Not venting jars, tried different types of jars. What the heck am I doing wrong? I just want enough for personal use. Any thoughts or ideas?

I don't know the answer, but have you cleaned the jars thoroughly?

an "infection" would be my uneducated guess.
