We are working our way though a beautiful batch of black morels Sharon sent us the other day. This is all too good!!!

First, We had some USDA prime New York strips grilled and topped with morels sauteed in butter and served with some of Zim's garden snow peapods. (This was fantastic but the photo was not so great.)

Last night, we had walleyes from our Canada trip, simply sauteed in butter with morels and Zim's garden broccoli. I snipped off a little fresh thyme to sprinkle on top of those. (We did not grow the lemons!) All really simple and good!

This morning,we had a few of the girls' fresh eggs, scrambled with butter and sauteed morels on top. That was unbelievably nice and again, simple.

Just loving the flavor of morels and especially in a year in which we didn't find any. Thanks again, Sharon!!!

What's everyone enjoying tonight?
I hope you're all having a nice weekend out there!
Patrice

I've never seen black morels like that. Interesting.

What lovely cuisine you prepare with the morels, Patrice ! Thank you for sharing ! The black morels are so good. Here are some pics of morel hunts you may like ! My chooks even used to help me find them . I had a little model Friesian horse that I used in one hunt to gauge the size of them. They can get very large but come in all sizes.

Enjoy life to the full !

Gcs, that sounds like summer to me! Our sweet corn isn't ready yet, but we'll sure be looking forward to that.

ABeardedTrapper, there seems to be an underlying theme there...Smoke! Great stuff! All wonderful things.

Trapdog, we get black and yellow morels around here. Less black, and usually early in the season. Most of ours are yellow.

Thank you, Trappingthomas! Sharon is a gem. We send her a little of our maple syrup when we can and she more than reciprocates with all of those morels. It's always nice to share good stuff with nice people!

Thanks, Snowy! By now, you have demolished that ribeye and potatoes and I'll bet that was wonderful. Fantastic! The salad is intriguing. How do you dress that?

Thank you Sharon, for the morels, the photos and the kind words! Those morels were priceless. We looked a bit here but no luck this year. Our land produces a lot of things, but not many morels!

Simple dishes are the best...looking good Patrice .

You are lucky to have a good friend like Sharon..

We went out to our favorite Chinese place...and our favorite waitress named

Lee. Had a couple Mai Tais too. Lee even slid up some Sushi..on the house.

We take good care of her with tips... she's like family.

No fair- Patrice and Sharon are makin me hungry again!
Tonight I deviated from my diet and had Swiss cheese and thousand island over Aldis brauts served over a bed of kraut with buttered new peas on the side. It was yummy.
