I suppose when the hearing diminishes slowly over time you don’t realize what you are missing until it’s brought back. lol

That hints that you have found a way to improve your hearing that actually works. Fess up! What I usually gather is folks frustrated after spending a lot of money.

When my dad got his first hearing aid, he came out of the bathroom grinning and said "it sounds like Niagra Falls in there".

While wearing them can be a nuisance, I now hear birds during the day, and peppers at night.

I have needed them for years. Between a loud 357 I had at 18, industrial noise and the wreck that cracked my skull and bele my ear drum out. The ear doctor said everything is still in there just rearrange some.

I have 70% loss in my left and I think 50 in the right on my baseline test at work. When I hired in.

I cant tell where sounds come from, background noise makes it very difficult . I cant hardly find squirrel now.

I would love to have some if they could improve my hunting abilities. In dream land they would block impuld noise, connect to my phone, and fix my hearing. Tracking on them for when I loose them would be nice to.

The wife badgered me into gettin hearing aids.
Best thing I ever did, amazing what i could hear again once I got them.
Audiologist and proper hearing test is key to getting the hearing aids set for your hearing requirements.
I went thru workers compensation since my hearing loss was work related over the years. All costs are covered related to the tests and hearing aids initially and going forward.
The big bonus was that the audiologist diagnosed my hearing loss as a permanent disability and I got a decent sized settlement from workers comp as well as an annual disability credit on my annual tax liability.
I likely lost out on thousands of dollars by not seeing the audiologist sooner.

The technology has come a long way with understanding your specific hearing needs and customizing the aids to assist with trouble frequencies without altering the ones you have no trouble hearing.

wink
At the earliest testing place they said my damage is in the high frequency range. I asked so the female voice ringer and the Doc said yes. My wife laughed and the doc said no seriously he cant hear you well.

When I do watch TV I just about run everyone else out with high volume. I like subtitles.

I’ve had them for about 5 years. Usually leave them home when I’m water trapping for fear I’ll go over my head at some point and drown them. But that’s changing. It’s nice to be able to hear my buddy yelling “rock!” When we’re ripping down a river.

Mine come can find them when I lose one ,can hear when a rabbit runs thru the brush and helps with tinnitus but if it gets to windy I have to mess adjusting them on my phone. They are worth getting, luckily I filed a VA claim for tinnitus from a grenade simulator that blew about 5 feet from me and I got mine for free. That was last year and they made a world of difference.
