I caught 13 today. 5 adult males 8 females and they were still pregnant. Seems a little late for no young of the year. This is costing me money I guess I'll have to wait to trap them next year around September.
Set another 20 traps today. These 90-degree temps are tough on the old trapper.

Guy I sold fur to was selling large coon fetus from heavy breed coons on his nuance trapping trip down south and getting $25 each for them off some website. May be something to look into for you. Wish I had more info but that was years ago he told me.

I had juveniles 2 weeks ago trapping them here.

wonder why yours are running behind you aren't but 15-20 miles north of where I was trapping.

I was trapping not too far from the Gap church on 59.

I have always trapped chucks around this time and have always caught about 15% young of the year. Will see what's going on today.

Today I caught 12. 5 were juveniles 7 were adults 4 males and 3 females. The 3 females weren't pregnant.
I think I have It figured out the 8 females that I caught Saturday that were pregnant were probably do to a second breeding.

And every chuck I caught today was going into the den.

Yep, and look how much he made off a single coon. He was paid to trap nest predators on some big time $ duck places. The not prime spring catch all went into the pit. He fould a market to make a nice extra bonus. I think some went to freaks other maybe science classes. Regardless I like seeing and hearing about people finding and get a market on things taht would go to wast otherwise. Went from trash pit coon to Over a few hundred with minimal work.
