My brother punched me, I drove my knee in his nuts as he’s bigger and older, dad took off his belt and we both couldn’t sit right for a day or two.
Very violent family and we’re ok. This happened all last week……..

I believe in spanking, but it’s gotta be a good one and used very sparingly for the extreme reasons. I got the belt a few times, it’s friggin effective.
I spanked my kid lightly by hand once. Never again. It was the look I got afterwards that kept me up for nights.

I told the wife to do it next time. When she did finally spank me, It made me feel a bit randy.

Kids that don’t get a spanking are usually brats…….but not always.

Thats certainly the liberal spin on it...it had nothing to do with sheep and was guidance for raising children...period. again, big difference between a corrective action spanking and a beating. Thank goodness my parents loved me enough to spank me...way too many children and young adults never received corrective action. You can pick them out in a crowd...

Probably of more importance, mom needs to be in 100% support of dad and both need to be on the exact same sheet of music. And if grandma's got a problem with then she needs to get gone and stay out of it.

I went to Catholic school back in the 1960s. The principle was Sister Mary Catherine….barely five foot tall but mean as a rattlesnake. My buddy got caught skipping out of school at lunch break, and the next morning, was in the office with Sister MC. He was gonna get an arse beating, and the public address microphone was set up so everyone in the school would hear the paddling in their home rooms. The sound of those smacks echoed loud through the speakers.

To my buddy’s credit, he never made a sound.

You just tell these folks to chasten means to discipline and that ain't always done with the rod. Although it seems probable to me that in Proverbs 13:24 Solomon is referring to the rod type of punishment.

This is the problem, kid gets different rules for mom,dad,daycare and grandmas house. He's at my moms house two days a week, my mom (grandma) doesn't want to spank him but she should whoop him good and knock the stupid out of him before its to late.
