Are these considered firearms or can you ship them with no hassle?

No, they aren't considered a firearm, but you will be charged heavily for shipping because it is a chemical. Also, if you don't have a certified pesticide license and permitted to use in a particular state they won't ship to you. They are very restricted.

Already have them. Was thinking of selling if it wasn't going to be an issue. I wouldn't be sending any capsules. I'm guessing they aren't really worth all that much?

Trav is correct. I was thinking capsules were involved when the question was asked. Nothing wrong with sending the regular components. Just be charged by the shipping weight.

I believe you have what they call a Humane Coyote Getter not a M-44. M-44 operates by a spring.

What you have precedes the M-44. The Humane Coyote Getter fires a cyanide charge from a .38 caliber shell, powered by the shell primer.

I guess that would explain why I couldn't figure out how to set them.

The pin pushes the firing pin in. then you flip the wire (trigger) up to hold it in the ready position. Place the firing pin assembly in the tube and slide the trigger wire being the fine wire on the tube, screw the wool and case holder on and it's ready to fire.
