These the window mounted Mini, mini splits?, like a saddle mount so the window is visible? I saw an ad for them, didn't know they were out yet...interesting concept... waiting to see any comments.

It's all we have dose fine for our old house if its in the upper 90s it has a hard time keeping up but you get use to it as for the heat unless you get an actual mini split the heat will be basically non existent

I have one at my office. Its ok. But, it’s too small for the space. It’s ac only. I also use a box fan so it doesn’t feel too bad. Almost anything feels good when it’s 110 out side. You need to size it to the space you’re using. Like me, you can use fans to make it feel better with out costing you more on electricity.

I’ve had 3. Currently still have 2 I use year round. 22,000 btu ac/ 18,000 btu heat one is on the 30/28 side of my building my boat and ice cream freezers are in. That side also has. Gas wall heater. The ac stays on 72 and will freeze you out if turned lower. The heat stays on 60 but if I want it warmer during zero temperatures I turn on wall heater. The other unit is in the living quarters I built on in 2020. Same unit. I had to replace the original one in the big side after 7 years only because heat element went out. Ac still work. I sold old unit for 200 and replace it on Amazon prime days for 250. I could have just replaced element but it was easier to do it that way
Other two are what is six years old I one is five
Both are larger than recommended for the spacer in it is better to do it that way then I don’t have to struggle and it cuts down on the electric I love both of them

So, it's basically a window mount heat pump?

Regular window shaker unit? They'll take the edge off, especially if you keep the house buttoned up and use a few fans.

They work well. I mounted mine through the wall under the window, to free up the view. It worked great.

I think you try one every time you get a motel room. Those are probably industrial grade but I know those things work well in both heat and cold.
