From time to time there are inquiries on here about what to use to make your lure greasy, sticky, waterproof, freezeproof, etc.
I've been using a product recently called "Aquaphor." Its a healing ointment you can get at the drug store, Walmart, etc. It's a blend of petroleum gel, lanolin and glycerin. Odorless. At room temperature, its slightly thinner than axle grease. It doesn't freeze, although it does firm up quite a bit at freezing temps. During warm spells, it will leach into any porous material you put it on. The Aquaphor is a bit spendy, but Walmart also sells their "Equate" (generic) brand for quite a bit less and I'm sure someone could find a similar material on line.
Anyway, just a suggestion if you've been looking for something to thicken up your lure, make it sticky, and freezeproof.

Does Aquaphor easily melt to liquid in a microwave?

Each day is a gift. LIVE IT with gratitude.

Yes, just like Vaseline.

How cold are you talking for freeze proof? We have people ask for stuff that will work from -20 to -40

I put a squirt on a paper plate and left it in the freezer for a week. Like I say, it was softer than a gummy bear.
