I have a few of these traps and am looking into changing the pans springs and maybe the dogs . Any suggestions on tuning up these traps. Maybe a little stronger spring.

I'm guessing for live market use?
# 1 1/2 music wires for spring replacement
Pans I wouldn't change...no reason just add a few washers to pan.
Dogs go with a thicker, beefier dog but there is some bending, grinding and filing involved.

Thanks Mc. I was wondering if a 1.5 Bridger pan would work. I have some pans that need to be replaced.

I used lots of 1.5 victor soft catch in my days. Changed the chains a little, added pan tension and added JC conners Taos springs to them to speed them up a bit. Not covering the trap with too much cover is key. Rarely had a problem with them holding, did the same set up with the #3 soft catch. Too much spring pressure will lead to more foot trauma. Short check times is critical for good feet.

One option would be to upgrade to the sterling pan and dog system. Kind of pricey, but good
