I ordered a head shaver for my stepson for Christmas. A brand heavily advertised. I wasn't paying much attention but now every 6 weeks new blades show up and my credit card is charged $35! I didn't see anywhere where I had signed up for that. It was a one time gift. Done!

Tried to get the company to stop sending them but it kept happening so I finally resorted to reporting the CC lost so the old one would get cancelled. Now the company keeps sending emails that they're having trouble with my account and to check my CC status! LOL

My wife had a similar deal happen with some lotion she bought once and it ended up being a long term commitment that was hard to get out of. They make it very hard to cancel anything.

Those companies make almost all their profits on reoccurring subscription purchases. There's companies out there now monitor your cards for businesses like those and cancel for you. Of course you then have a reoccurring subscription from them instead.

I ordered a product about six months ago and somehow signed up for the subscription. I didn't realize it until they sent me an email a month later saying my next order was ready to ship.

Luckily their customer service is pretty good and they cancelled the order for me even though it was too late to cancel the shipment. I received the order but wasn't charged.

Turns out I like their product and have since knowingly signed up for the subscription. I like that they let me manage it; they send an email a week in advance letting me know it's going to ship soon and I have the option to delay the shipment from 1-4 weeks if I don't need more at that time.

I was in same deal. Maybe even same company. You can get it stopped but they don’t make it easy. Gotta navigate a maze but it’s in there somewhere.

Call the CC and tell them that it was not authorized and they will back charge the company.

You give "Implied" consent when you requested the shaver in the VERY teeny tiny small print somewhere on the order form.

This once happen to me when I bought a shop manual. I investigated the scheme on google. Well known fraudulent scheme. I contacted my CC company and asked why they allowed this company to use their service. No answer! I change cc company.
