Anyone ever look for and find geodes in Indiana? If so, how would someone do that there on purpose?

I don't know about Indiana, but Barren Lake State Resort, in Kentucky has islands and other areas covered with geodes and fossils. Back in 1995 the game warden, or park ranger, told us it was okay to collect them. We collected 2 buckets full in probably 20 minutes. I would check before doing it now.

Down here in southern Ga....rocky, limestone bottom creeks and rivers....and a lot of walking or snorkeling/diving.

Agatized coral geodes are common along with shark teeth, fossilized bones and teeth from many other paleo and older critters.

Muddy bottom or deep sand bottom streams are a waste of time. The shallow rocky, pebbly, gravel bed streams are where you'll find them.

I find them in the ditches and washes on my farm.. used to pick them up.
