Take a look at a Wyoming map, the Northern border is a lot shorter than the Southern border.

Yup, lots of oddites putting a round 3D world onto a flat 2D map. On the map wyoming looks to be mostly square.

The only things that had anything to do about lines we learned in school were the Mason Dixon line and the disputes between Ohio and Michigan. Of that was all before a good many of you were born. My last year of school was 1959. Hmmm... 67 years ago.

Wisconsin has 5 major geographical correction lines as seen on the map, 4 horizontal and 1 vertical and then all the corresponding township and sectional changes. I was made aware of these corrections when I was selling plat books for 4-H while in 8ths grade and HS, but did not get any real meaning for them until I took a physical geo course in college.
