Hey all.... retired in Jan... going trap a little more in the fall. Always thought of catching a few carp and smoking the meat for bait... Will coyote , fox, bobcat work a set with smoked carp...Or just a waste of time ? Could you "spice "it up alittle with something like Dobbins bait solution? I use Dobbins solution with tanited wood chuck... seems to work ok .

It works well for coon, skunks and possums. Can’t say about predators.

Cut them into chunks you can dip them in liquid smoke. Then you can lay the chunks on cookie sheets and freeze. Place the frozen chunks in plastic bags or some sort of container. Then when you're ready to set traps just take out what you need. Place the frozen chunks at your sets and let them thaw out. I do that with all my predator baits.
