Good for you, I'm glad to hear you are doing all the right things and wish you a speedy recovery! Maybe you will be able to make it to a convention this year, too.

I set a bunch of wood chuck burrows today and let me tell you kneeling on that new knee was rough. The knee works to perfection, but that kneecap is a killer. I guess tomorrow I'll have to take along a kneeling pad. But my surgeon told me that was going to be the case.

I just passed 2 weeks post-surgery. A little more than a new knee as they had to remove a surgical nail to do the knee that had been in my leg for 28 years. It is still hurting like a blank but I am ahead on knee movement. A lot of my pain is undoubtedly from removing the surgical nail. Dr. told me yesterday they usually use a 3-pound hammer but they couldn't budge it with that so brought in a 10-pound hammer. Hip to ankle is hurting.

You can do anything you put your mind to Dave. You're the only one who knows how your body feels and knows your limitations.

No truth in it for me!! I’ve had a partial in 2007 and a full replacement in 2012 and I never stopped trapping nor did my surgeon tell me not to. He DID TELL ME to stay out of the steep, ditch banks trapping mink though. He also said that if I didn’t he’d be glad to replace my other knee and maybe a hip!! My surgeon was a farm boy from Michigan’s thumb area so he knew exactly what I did trapping! LOL

Good knee pads and a kneeling pad work well! Both done.

Crushed my leg in a logging accident 28 years ago. Nail was a metal pin from knee to ankle inside of the bone. They attach a piece to the end that they can pound on and drive it out. I don't remember anything from the operation either.

You need to get out and do some scouting when you feel up to it. There will be more competition this year trapping as prices are up. Only do what you feel you can do. Slide down the ditch banks on your rear so you don't twist the knee. Climbing back up will be hard. Always carry your cell phone if you need help!
