….no country in that region should have nukes

…. Ideally we’d be the only country with them

Don't you think if a wolf has been rehabilitated he should be trusted to watch the lambs ?

Isn't there some saying that says the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

Bombs or energy? The deal I heard of is for energy purposes.
Y'all fellers are so paranoid of middle eastern countries, what are y'all's thoughts on China? You know that country that "accidently" released a virus that killed several t man folks.

Nuclear power may become pretty popular around the world over the next few years, along with copper usage.

"
The nuclear agreement with Saudi Arabia is a 30-year civilian energy pact that is officially not for weapons, though it creates a potential pathway to enrich uranium. Signed in July 2026 by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the deal allows American companies to build and supply nuclear power infrastructure in the kingdom

The Enrichment Issue: While the deal explicitly bars Saudi Arabia from making weapons or misusing materials, critics worry that allowing uranium enrichment capabilities on Saudi soil creates a dual-use technical baseline that could eventually be diverted to a weapons program

I think it’s bloody crazy idea. The biggest problem is setting the dam thing off, otherwise we would’ve had small ones detonated by extremists a long time ago.
Nuclear is the way of the future though.

I believe at this time it’s for energy only but the next step most take is enrichment for a weapon. Like someone said, I suspect nuclear energy will become more prevalent with data center builds. It’s surely not the same world we have always known.

Not an easy question ... We aren't the only country with nuclear capabilities, so if we don't, some other regime will. How do you gauge the integrity of a nation to follow through in the future on the words spoken today? History shows us that the we as a nation have not always made the best decisions getting involved in world affairs and it has come back to bore us, several times!

Nuclear, while being one of the most efficient at converting energy to useful power is not without a multitude of complex problems. Some are more controllable with technology than others. But, the worlds energy needs will continue to grow as technology developes at an ever accelerating rate. Do we have the moral right to limit another nations development, and if the answer is yes; how do we determine who are the luck ones to get our assistance without it coming back to bite us later?

With all the demand, they’re coming. Both our countries are doing lots of research on them. Wind & solar is like taking a garden hose to a wildfire, not to mention their environmental footprint………..yet the green beatnicks keep pushing for them.

So Saudi Arabia is sitting on a giant ocean of oil. The world runs on oil and NG. Now that country that is rich beyond our comprehension, wants to get nuclear energy for "energy" purposes and an "energy" deal?

Now Trump has said they must join the Abraham Accords before any deal can be signed, but trusting a muslim is like trusting a snake. They are some of the best liars I know and would rather lie to you climbing a tree than stand on the ground and tell the truth.

I dealt with them directly for quite a while and I deal with them infrequently in my work. NEVER trust a muslim. Their holy book gives them absolution to lie to non muslims. And they despise Christians and Jews.

Any muslim with a nuke is a time bomb.

Energy purposes my arse!!

How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

I reckon if we are wanting .gov to stay out of the sand box of the middle east, we have know business telling those countries what they can and can't have. If we were going to be the world's police, we should have conquered the world when we were the only ones with the atomic bomb.
