I watched the video but what does it actually mean for us that purchase guns and suppressor? I need the dumb persons breakdown.

I think the bottom line is that we have to wait for the appeal to play out. Hopefully the district court will be affirmed and then another case brought on 2A grounds against NFA

Eventually it means going to an outdoor store and buying a suppressor like you would a box of ammo.

The judge gave the government 7 days to appeal the decision.
The judge ruled that when the government made the tax $0, it no longer justifies the the paperwork associated to the tax, no form 4, no fingerprints, ect. for suppressors, short barreled rifles ...
The judge ruled that the government could not use the commerce clause to continue the paperwork requirements, only congress could do that in a new law.
The judge also found that "other weapons" petitioners did not have standing as they joined the suit after the filing.

If the government doesn't appeal within 7 days, the ruling will only apply to partitioners current and future members; not universal across the nation.

The judge did not render an opinion on the constitutionality of the entire NFA as the opinion addressed the narrowest of the topics asked for by the petitioners.

So now, the petitioners and their members wait on the government to take their next actions.

If this ultimately succeeds localized or nationwide in the future, and I have some serious doubts it will....What might happen is that blue states will permanently ban NFA items when the NFA is abolished.

Would love to be wrong & see the NFA abolished with all NFA items made available with nothing more than a background check, just like other firearms.

that if they don't appeal that theoretically the 13th of August you fill out a 4473 like a shotgun to buy any of the nfa items then walk out the door.

no tax stamp or national registry

I expect it will take a little longer than that if no appeal is made but I would expect it by the start of 2027

This is why I have been holding out on buying a suppressor. If someone can take it to court with a really fancy talking lawyer, I don't see how a non lethal item can be deemed as an item that needs to be regulated. The suppressor has absolutely nothing to do with the operation of the gun. It is like putting a wrap on your car. It has zero to do with how the car functions.

As a commerce item, I have always shook my head in disgust at how suppressors have been regulated. Let's hope and pray common sense prevails.

Amen. If and when you don't have to be treated like a felon I will own several.

I'm definitely hoping to buy a few, sick of my hearing taking a beating while hunting. My buddy ran one last year waterfowl hunting, it was nice.
