This is exactly right.
My Kangals would no doubt make the list. There's a video of a male Kangal killing 3 pitbulls, in 24 seconds, that frequently gets put on and taken down from YouTube. The Kangal shakes the pitbulls like a terrier does a rat. Kangals have 3 1/2 times the bite force of a pitbull and about 6 times the mass. Their bite is 300 psi higher than an African lion. They are a non aggressive breed, but a very protective one.
They tried using Kangals for police and military work, but the Kangals didn't want to bite people, even when commanded to do so. The only time they could reliably get them to bite people was if the handler was "attacked". They then did so much damage, because of their massive size, bite force and tendency to bite the head and neck, that they could only be used in a lethal situation.
Muslims are getting all dogs banned in parts of most European countries and in parts of the US including places in New York, Michigan, Virginia and Texas. Large numbers of people have been attacked by muslims for walking dogs near mosques, enough so that may Western cities now put up signs preventing dogs near them.
If pitbulls are banned, all large and medium breeds will be at risk of being banned and even some of the tiny ones like chihuahuas, which frequently bite people.
If I don't like something, I don't feel obligated to make sure other people can't have it. I just don't get it. I wish everyone felt the same way.

Your dogs are different from pitbulls because pitbulls have been selectively bred for gameness, which makes them more likely to attack other dogs and people, and to persist in their attack once they engage. Shelters are overwhelmed with pitbulls from families that couldn't handle them; they should be culled, not re-homed.
