Back when I was a young kid my uncle cooked some soup and told me it was rattlesnake I went home and told my mom I had rattlesnake soup and it was really good she told me it wasn't rattlesnake soup we kept arguing about it till she finally called her brother and he admitted it was oyster soup.I was around 6 at the time.

I'm with the Kidd on this one.

My wife loves it, and gets it as an appetizer any time she can.

Really good with Ramen noodles and extra mushrooms/ramps added.

I ate it quite a few times when I worked in Houston.I like it.Has I think a unique taste.Possibly the closest taste I could compare it to was Aligator.I ate Armadillo Chili while I was there too.It was much better than I thought it was going to be. smile

I kill one in my yard about once a week in the summer. Not much meat on them but it’s good fried in butter. A little tough and chewy like clams or calamari. I’ve been wanting to try slow cooking it until the bones lift out and then making a clam chowder with snake instead of clams.

This guy woke me up the other morning getting into my truck. Luckily I don’t have any neighbors within a half mile to hear me squeal like a little girl.
