On August 9th at the 2001 NTA convention in Mason City, Iowa a new DP coon trap was introduced to a very skeptical trapping community. The Lil' Grizz Get'rz was the answer to a problem I faced on my own coon line.

After 25 years, I decided I need to tell the story of the Grizz Trap.

Before I start, I want to thank everyone who use or have used the Grizz Trap....25 years and counting.

You are the Godfather of the DP Gary! Your first traps revolutionized coon trapping. It’s been a fast twenty five years. I remember a waiting list and calling you wondering when I was going to get my traps. I got them and never looked back.

I remember one year when there was none available or very few, I didn't get any then either. Finally got a dozen to try, with the right bait they're deadly.

Would rather have a duke or any number of so called copies I prefer a good anchoring system

Gary still remember the first 1 you handed To Mo Conservation Biologist Dave Hamiliton, at Mo fur sale in Mongomery City. Was standing beside Dave. You darn near stopped the sale. Been few years since that cold Janurary Saturday. Coon trapping has never been the same

I got 6 for Christmas that year, haven’t looked back.

I have about 5 dozen of them and don't take very good care of them. I've been using them in salt marshes for 23 years. They hold up and nothing gets out of them.
