Bringing this back up I was wondering how well these type units heat? I am thinking about adding one to the garage to help heat in the winter. Or doing just a heater. I could possibly run it in the summer also to cool the garage. How well do they work when it gets cold like in the teens?

We are in Wisconsin and we installed a unit in our bedroom upstairs in an old farmhouse. The house does have central air but the guy who remodeled the upstairs before we moved in cut/blocked the flow to the upstairs. It gets HOT in the summer and freezing in the winter. Our Mr. Cool heats and cools; we have had it about a year and it works great! We wouldn't be able to sleep upstairs without it! It keeps the whole upstairs an appropriate temperature regardless of the season!
My husband installed it, he runs a construction worker so he may be a bit more skilled than most but he thought the install went well. My parents installed 2 this year in two bedrooms and they also love them.

For us it was worth every penny!

Our Mr. cool heats really well. Granted the machine has about a plus/minus degree range of about about 5 degrees we have found out. It was -22 here without windchill and it kept theupstairs warm and worked well!

Thank you very much. The main use would be to heat the garage enough to dry our fur but also our bedrooms are above the garage and it get cold in my daughters room with the hardwood floor. Our garage faces the north which isnt ideal
