Anyone see one of these on Antiques Roadshow recently? A guy had one that was missing some cartridges, and I believe they appraised it at $10,000 to $15,000.

Fast forward to a week or so ago. Zim and I are at Gavin's, a local auction site a few miles from us that is owned by some friends. We are dropping off some items for another auction and while looking around, we see an item under a moving blanket, so we lift it up a bit to see what's underneath. It was this...



Not a cartridge missing. It is part of an estate auction that is open now. Full of amazing firearms too! It is currently at $15,750 with 1 day and 16 hours to go.

No, I'll be looking for something ever so slightly less expensive for Zim, but that sure would be fun!

Ide like something similar with Weatherby Cartridges, suppose its defenitly feasible to put it together myself if I can think of a cool background... and of course find time for another project to start and never finish.

I don’t know how you know originals from replicas, but I know there were tons of replicas made. I’m sure the one I have is not an expensive one. Look at eBay, there is usually a few listed there

I don't know either, Outlaw. The volume and quality of high end items in this guy's estate is impressive, and a replica sure wouldn't fit in with this guy's collection. The next time we stop over there I will ask one of the Gavins how they make that determination. There is a preview in person today from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The photos they posted for the auction lot do not show a photo of the back of the item. There may be information or papers there.

It is currently at $17,250 with over a day left. With 101 bids so far and a soft close, it will go on for a while.

I just thought it was cool to see it on Roadshow and then see this on the auction. This is quite the collection. Loads of guns in the $1,000's.

Are you able to see what all of the cartridges are on that display? I didn't think it would be easy to get all of those.

Patrice, methinks that it is the real deal. Several rare Winchester loadings including .70-150 which never went into production. Also the mans obvious taste in firearms speaks volumes.

My bad Patricia, the replicas like I have do no have the actual cartridges. I don’t know how I missed that. That one would indeed be a super addition to any collection. I do have a Nosler board similar to that that does have all the actual different bullets displayed on it. I love vintage firearm memorabilia!
