Guys I’ve tried looking at several different places on the internet to see if it was announced where the 2027 convention will be held and I’ve not found anything.
Has it been confirmed yet??

Rumor, don’t hold me to it. Spencer Iowa in 2027, then New Ulm Minnesota 2028! No idea on dates.

I don’t know where the 2027 or 2028 conventions will be held, but I’m positive that 2027 was announced some time ago and that 2028 location was announced this past weekend at the FTA in Missouri.

Finding a suitable location and an organization with enough members to put on a major convention is not something you do overnight. Lots of planning and prep is involved.

From what I’ve heard, the Missouri guys did a bang up job on the convention that just ended. Gives other groups something to shoot for!

the 2028 is for sure in Minnesota. Don't have the dates in front of me, but it is around the end of July, or the first few days in August.

2028 will be held in New Ulm MN. Home of Schmitt Enterprise

It will be held in conjunction with the Minnesota Trappers Association convention. MN convention as of late has been held on the first Saturday of August plus the Friday and Thursday before.

If that holds true it will be August 3rd, 4th and 5th

I know there was talk that we wouldn't have convention the same year as FTA will be here. But don't know if that was decided for sure.

I think having a state convention in conjunction with a national convention is a win-win for everyone. I don’t know how FTA and MTA are dividing things up and I don’t care. It really doesn’t matter.

- 2 organizations to split facility rentals.
- one less event for vendors to go to
- wider range of demos than at a state convention
- local trappers get to experience a national convention without having to travel 1000 miles.

I’m sure there are more.

Minnesota already has a great state convention. When joined with FTA I think it will be better than great. Especially if fur price hold or improve.

FTA puts out no money. However the only proceeds that they get is from the auction. The hosting association gets all other dollars raised from the gate, tailgating, dealer tables, etc. But the state also pays out the money that it takes to host the show.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn’t aware of how joint conventions worked.

I still stand by my statement that it is a win-win for everyone.

It’s a much more complicated agreement when hosting NTA convention. I’m sure it’s changed some since we last hosted one.

Yes, much different.

As Clay said when a state hosts a FTA convention they pay the expenses and keep all the proceeds other than the FTA auction monies. The state supplies most of the volunteers to run day to day operations.

I'm not sure what the NTA does but I do know it's a lot less generous. Alot
