Guys,, is there any way to increase the pan tension on the expand a pans for body grips?
I ordered 2 dozen and installed them and used some last year,, I had problems trying to keep them set,,
I put the notch on the heaviest setting and the pan itself was too heavy and kept firing… I had to “ baby” the bodygrip into the coni boxes I made and cross my fingers they didn’t fire while trying to put them in place.

Would filing a deeper notch help??

I have the exact opposite issue with them. Too high pan tension when put on new belisle 120s.

Yes, file the notch in the dog.

Only way is to file the notch a touch deeper and cleaner.

Ensure the location on the striker bar (where the notch engages) is dip or paint free. Ruff that area up a little with heavy grit sandpaper also helps.

I use the Expand-a-pans on 280 bobcat boxes.

were your traps bought used if so someone might of filed a little to much I have bought some that a stern look would set off until i used a chainsaw 5/32nds to deepen the notch work slowly and try often
