Never really cared for deputies when I trapped Pennsylvania. They seem more interested in busting you to keep you out of their spots.
Now professional gw were not out to personally gain.

I had never heard of this before but yea, volunteer game wardens just seems like a bad idea.

My only interaction was in the Hunter Education classes with my boys and the CR Certification for myself. The deputies were really knowledgeable and passionate about the training. I thought they did a great job (10+ Years ago now). Seems that would be a needed niche (In-Person Training). I assume they have or are going to move to online training/certification. Things will be lost in my opinion -- nothing like in-person training. Never had a field encounter with a deputy to comment on that but could see where conflicts could exist.

I didn’t see where they were doing away with volunteer hunter education instructors, just their deputy warden program.
