I think everyone who is selling traps should be using pirate ship. It makes it so much easier and more affordable to sell and ship traps now. Definitely look into it. I stopped selling traps because of how expensive shipping was getting but pirate ship makes it so I can sell now

Same here.

They had a message on their site that if you don't have a printer, you can scan a QR code now with your phone, and the shipping company (UPS, or whatever one you select) will print the label at no charge.

I use pirate ship whenever I sell traps to save the other guy shipping costs. Has anybody ever used it when they buy traps. If the seller doesn't use discount shipping can you print and send a label to the seller to use to ship traps to you?

Another cost saving feature when shipping traps is to use Ground Advantage Cubic, which is a post office option. It is available on Pirate Ship but I don’t think it is an option at a regular post office.

There are 2 requirements - package must weigh less than 20 pounds and measure smaller than 12x12x12. It can be like 12x9x6 or 14x10x4. As long as it isn’t over 1,728 cubic inches. The savings are huge.

Now before you say 20 pounds isn’t much for traps OR that is a pretty small box - that is true. But if you split up the shipment into boxes that are that size, it is cheaper. Sounds crazy but it is true. Here is an example -

I recently sent an order weighing 105 pounds to the upper Midwest. If I put it all in one box, post office isn’t an option (70 pound weight limit) and UPS has a hefty surcharge for packages that heavy. So if I put it in 2 boxes, shipping would be about $153.00.

I shipped that order in 7 boxes, each weighing 15 pounds and measuring 8x8x8. Total shipping cost was $111.00. That is a savings of $42.00!!! Yes, it was a bit of a hassle for me but the savings for my customer were huge.

I’m not saying your savings will always be that great but give it a try with Pirates Ship rate calculator. Make up an imaginary shipment and do rate comparisons. I think you will be surprised.

I’ve often thought about that option, me just purchasing the label and sending it to the seller. But I’m not sure if you’re able to email the label?

From pirate ship, you can "print to pdf". This will save the label to your computer. You could then email that pdf as an attachment to the seller. Then they can print it.
