And great grandchildren……

My Dad enjoyed collecting model trucks. You know the tanker trucks that came out every year or so from the different oil companies. He also collected items from local companies. He had them neatly displayed in his garage and the grandchildren could look but were not allowed to play with them. We picked our grandson up to go to the county fair and he came out of the house with a “toy” I recognized as one of Dad’s collectibles.

Old guys like me realize any pride of ownership does not compare to the fun a kid can have with stuff that at this point is just stuff.

I do have a bunch of old family stuff and it blows when it gets messed up. My dining room set was my great grandparents for example. We use it is gotten scratched and dented under my watch. But unlike some other things its geting used not locked away taking up space in storage.

Its taken a while but I believe I prefer to use things even if they get destroyed. Otherwise its just stuff taking uo space.

I also don't have a single mint condition gun either. Thay all get used like a tool. Infact I prefer the oldest most beat up guns over shiny new ones. I have a lot of history with them I got my money's worth and dont have to worry about scratching them up. I found out i dont like worrying about scratching a gun it takes a fot.of fun out of my hunt.
