This is one very, very, very stout springed dog proof I've hardly ever used it. But when I have nothing's pulled out on it ever but I don't know what brand it is. I've had it at least 20 years. Probably closer to thirty

Looks like a home made one using a spring tooth from a hay baler .

Made in Indiana, I think in the 90’s. Did not hold raccoons real well.

Ric is correct,, I do remember seeing an article about how to make one similar at home using snare cable and PVC.
The pvc was obviously going to get chewed up,, but it was the cable that held.
I remember because I was considering building one until talking to a our warden that it would be considered a snare, which is illegal on land here.

Bob Best used them in Texas and did well with them . Just need to set where coons cannot get tangle or could pull out which work with any trap.

Yeah, I used it in the 90s and early 2000 on ADC jobs with my other dog proofs, and I didn't have any pullouts at all. In fact, i've never had a pullout on a dog proof but i've set them independent away from obstacles or even corn stocks

That trap is the Trapmasters DP. Introduced at the 2004 FTA Convention in Berrien Springs, MI.
From what I was told that Bob Best designed the spring.
