The anti-camera crowd had better be working to get all the private game cameras on public lands outlawed. Wouldn't want some nasty fellow hunter knowing what you're doing. For the most part the courts have been very clear that we don't have any privacy rights in public places. As long as you've been informed that they are there and you aren't doing anything wrong shouldn't have a problem.

A private camera on public land is much different than a government camera on public land storing and sharing everything about you

The courts have never said a person has ZERO privacy rights

Not yet anyway,,,,

"The current near-hysterical preoccupation with safety is at best a waste of resources and a crimp on the human spirit, and at worst an invitation to totalitarianism."

How public is our license tag data? Maybe the tag info is as much a problem as the cameras.

I had a friend 50 years ago who was a realtor. Police officers who observed families looking at homes for sale would feed those names as leads to real estate agents.

Meta data" with no content is warrantlessly collected. I wonder how you'll feel if a person collected that data on your wife or children.

I'm sure you'll be fine with an overweight guy in a dorito stained shirt following your kids to and from school just to collect meta data. I'm sure knowing how long they're on the swingset each day is totally harmless data you wouldn't mind someone collecting.

For thee, not for me. It's illegal to stalk people for a reason. And yet magically they think it's ok when they do it. But surely they'd admit they would be angered to the point of violence if it was done to them.
