Everyone didn't grow up wading up a creek with a light and gig stabbing frogs on the bank? I remember riding on dads shoulders b/c the water was too high for my short stuff. Now that I mention it I was young enough to think it was amazing dad knew how to get the bridge where we got out at way late after dark. Like how you know where you going old man? lol He died in 04.

PM me the Grey update Yote if ya wanna. He's a local fella. Mousie and Angela was the other one. Angela was the coordinator on the ND HVAC line at that Chrysler plant I was telling you about. We made every HVAC that went in that Dodge Dakota from 05 on. Small world.

As kids we took a 5gal bucket and sunk it along the shoreline then filled with 6 or 8 inches of water then took a couple of gunny sacks and made wings with them, it works okish especially where there’s a lot of frogs

We would check and remove any caught frogs every morning, there were usually several in each trap, back then we got .35 cents a pound for them and the guy would come once a week to pick them up, I believe they finally ended up on some high school biology lab table being dissected, but back then 70/80s the money was welcome it was way more then the 80 bucks a month my friend who ran a paper route seven days a week made, add in gopher trapping money and life was good then

[quote=KeithC]There's a great many more frogs out at night, than during the day. In super heavily populated areas, you can do okay during the day. In areas with lower populations, night is the time to hunt frogs.

Just remember to make sure to tie the pillowcase. A friend of mine didn't. Out of 30 frogs, only one stayed inside. He had just come back from camping. Finding 29 frogs, guts hanging out, in a packed van, at 4:00am, in the dark, is not a good time. That van stunk until he junked it.

Actually I think there's the same amount weather day or night.
Just easier to see the eyes at night.
Harder to see frogs in the green plants during the day.
Last time I took two boys with each of us with 9 foot spinning rods, caught 48 in about an hour.

Bull frogs don't get as big in the north as they do in the south either.
Sell fun to fry up a bunch of legs.
