I had a few sets out on my land for coyotes. Caught one last week. Now I was check cell picks from last night and had a bobcat come through. It walked past the sets got down wind and came back and found the trap. The trap is my 8 year old grandsons that he bought at the Minnesota trappers convention. A used #2 Bridger dogless. Then 35 minutes later a big bobcat comes through and works one set then back to another set and lo and behold it finds the trap. Now I have 2 cats to release this morning. These are the 1st bobcats we have ever caught. That part is cool but releasing them will be very interesting.

I hadn’t had a bobcat on camera in two months. Luckily I had taken the day off already to go eork up some food plots out there. My grandsons will be excited.

Thus is a picture of the coyote we caught Friday. [Linked Image]

Releasing them is exciting but not that difficult. I've only had to release one but it went pretty much as planned.

I used my catch pole, had a buddy with and the extra set of hands was helpful. The really exciting part came once the bobcat was loose and didn't realize it. We stood there staring at each other about four feet apart until I waved my arms and scared it off.

I'm looking forward to hearing how t went for you.

Oh and make sure your vehicle doors are closed if you have one nearby.

Eh...wot?

They choke out fast and die easy. Soon as its eyes roll back and it relaxes its time to move. Be quick and the cats will be fine.

I didn't tighten the loop enough to choke out the one I released, it wasn't necessary. I got the loop on him, stretched him out, handed the pole to a buddy and took the trap off.

Eh...wot?

Use a bucket/pail about a waist paper size.. Once in a while you will have to play around to get them in the bucket, but most go right in. [Linked Image]
One of them will go right in to it. tilt it up and slide it to the side until a foot comes out step on the trap and he will pull his foot out

Piece of plywood with notch open at bottom works best for us.
