About the same weather wise here.Anywheres from 20's to 50's.For marten and fisher you can't beat beaver with muskrat in a pinch. For lure skunk up high and beaver caster on the bait.

I was in Maine bear hunting years ago. I thought it was real similar weather and terrain to the UP.

The only difference I found was the UP has not cut down all the cedar wintering deer yards like what has happened in northern Maine

We have a few left. Don't give them any ideas though, a lot of our public land looks like the Argonne Forest after WWI

Roy, what are you going after? I made 3 trapping trips to Aroostook County after bear starting in 2000. I loved it there and could have moved there had my Bride been on board. The land prices were like the U.P. about 50 years ago. That is no longer the case. I found the countryside and weather on par with us. I wasn't, however, there in the late fall/early winter. I hope you have a ball, Roy!

Roy you should contact Brian Cogill Sr. at 207-793-4605 or at brian.cogill@yahoo.com Tell him I said for you to contact him. He did a lot of work on the boxes they use to keep the lynx out. He can be much help.

............Roy, Jeremiah Wood's "Trapping Today" YouTube channel shows his M/F boxes pretty well. They have some rules to protect Lynx that are, I believe, a bit unreasonable, but rules are rules.
