This tree had broken off from the weight of the fruit a dozen years ago, this year the fruit are as large as ever. I prune the branches a little every year.

Looks great and very large fruit. I have some wild plums just haven't had a good crop in some years now. Frosts have been the reason mostly.

Looks good Les. Does that variety need a pollinator or is it self-fertile?

They say it needs a pollinator. But while I planted one a wild plums my pollinator died back and regrew from the graft and now produces a one inch blue/purple plum. There’s lots of plums here for pollination, and bees everywhere, maybe not that early though.

That is amazing! My plums went crazy this year too. Ones I planted 15 years ago and just have never really done anything exploded this year. I picked a bunch in Ely around 15 years ago and buried the pits. A few came up and then this year I have probably 100 new one that have suckered up and grown a couple of feet. My grapes reacted the same way to the strange weather.

I have nothing clever to put here.

The year has everything to do with it,we had 12” of rain in the last month, not sure that was good.

We are just the opposite. I don't think we have had 6 inches all year. I have been hauling 200 gallons of water almost daily to the trees in the back.

I laid down tarp each side and shook the tree. Girlfriend is making jam.
