Is it easy to clean out all the muskrats in my pond? I would like to trap some muskrats out of there but still leave some in there for reproduction.

Its about 2/3 of an acre

Catch about six. there should be a pair of rats left on 2/3 of an acre.

There may not be huts those rats may be living in bank dens.
Maw rat can have 2 litters per year and the female rats in that first litter can have young. But it all depends on the habitat.

Water is about 10 feet at the deepest

Is it a dug pond, intended as much or more for fish then wildlife? If dug like most around here there may not be a good place for rats to build houses or even small structures. Also if you don't have cattails or other bulb type rooted aquatics you won't have many if any year round rat population. Many times they will migrate to these type ponds in the spring, reproduce and may well leave before winter. Also a small pond with limited cover makes predation easier. At 10 foot deep you won't have them freezing out, but you may not have many rats. If were to trap it I would trap whatever you can. Migrating rats will find the pond in the spring.
