I believe a feller that can make a living trapping with cottonmouths, timber rattlers, aligators, mountain lions, black bears, mosquitoes, crackheads and maybe a mean ol farm bull,is a might tougher than a feller who can chop a hole in the ice and set a 330 with some sticks lol
You never had frozen fingers toes and face. And it shows lol
Get back in your lane Soyboy!
You aint never had frozen fingers either.

In all fairness, the crackhead thing does indeed sound sketchy. I’ll take -45, deep snow over that possibility.
If you guys stop acting like teenage prom girls and read up.
As I've said for the past 2 months Canadian traps were going to and have gone up.
8 was educated again to the details. The tarriff is 50 percent on steel and steel products no matter country of origin That is 50 percent of wholesale. Doesn't matter if it's a a trap made in canada, china, korea etc Also steel trap parts.
Canada ha implemented reciprocal tariffs on US made steel products going north.

Its as plain as the nose on your face who the most productive trappers are when you peruse the available statistics. The USA has 10 times the population of Canada yet only manages to produce 4 times the amount of fur compared to Canada. If you were as good you would produce 10 times the amount of fur we do. So you be sucking the hind teat badly when it comes to trapping.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

So are the Dukes going up too, or just the Canadian stuff? Canadas reciprocal tarrifs are why them slick trap setters were going up……..but only once the supply Marty had was gone, that’s a good fella. A dick move is jacking the prices like some US suppliers are doing with their old stock. Did they all run out at the same time? Go tell ‘em to fly a kite and keep their stock, and buy the cheap traps. Belisles are hard to figure out and for highly advanced trappers only anyways, right?…….lol
Wolf is one critter that you can put a lot of miles on and not stack up the numbers…….or hammer 14 within 2 square miles. It’s a different game.

I’d rather ride my snowmobile through the bush here all winter and catch 10 Marten, than drive through farmers cornfields in the South and catch 500 muddy Raccoons.
The quality and experience of trapping up here is worth way more than they’ll ever understand down there.
Yea,there was a good reason the Hudson Bay Company built all their fur trading forts all around Hudson and James bay and not around the gulf of Mexico, lol.

I could be wrong JP but I believe I once read Minnesotans have the extreme freedom of being able to catch a total of 5 fisher and marten combined per year over a period of a whopping 9 day season.

You do realize where most southern fur ends up don't you... They never enter the fur market... I would imagine those coyotes on Savell's tailgate, God rest his soul, end up about like these fellers on this movie clip....

Ya, must be putting all that time on the sled ice fishing. On Lake Winnipeg, go figure!

Who cares about wolves. There isn't any mystery to them. Only need an open season and time.
Darrell my understanding is that 330 Belisle were hard to find. I know MTP was out, I tried to buy some in May.
Bridger traps got hit with the tariff. As far as duke goes, I don't know. Maybe he hasn't imported any since the tariff was put into place.
So if they open a season, you guys are going to rid the landscape of them? If the land can support them, they’ll be around.
Looks like B330s are in stock at 45-48 bucks on a few sites……unless their sites aren’t updated. I’m guessing they were cheaper? Can still get them here for under $40CAD here so about $30 for high rolling rich Americans. Come up here and pick up a few boxes. Or is the smaller crossings into the US hard on you guys? They’ve always been pretty friendly to us, but when they find out I trap wolves near the border they get real happy. Most must be hunters.
