Got lucky and spent two weeks this August with my wife and grandchild in Valdez Alaska.

Above pic with Ian and Ted Hanson, Ted's Fur Shed. I have talked to Ted on the phone for many years and was so glad he took a couple days to show us how to fish in Alaska. Very good company and skilled trapper and fishman.

Coolest catch of our trip Wolf Fish which was very good eating.

We had a good mixture of salmon, halibut, lingcod, rock fish to take home. Ian graduated this year. Guess we have several more we will have to take to AK after graduation.

Pictures never do Alaska justice, one must see with his or her own eyes.

That 's a huge wolf eel. It appears you still have all of your fingers.

I really miss being up in that country. I really wanted to go up there this year but didn't work out. Maybe next year.

My boat lives just to the left of the first picture. What days were you here? I probably saw you on the water or in the harbor.

GUK.....it's the sound they make when they hit the end of the cable

I'm jealous and great pictures.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

The cheeks of the wolf fish covered a medium sized fry pan.

I've eaten the cheeks off big wall eyes when I was a kid on Leach lake. But that would be awesome to see a picture of those cheeks in the pan

That's not really Alaska. You have to come up to the interior to see real Alaska.
