The US will just build a pipeline from the Great Lakes since we own 61% of them. Draining them would be a good thing, the northeast would have milder winters. LOL

Sounds like a sound plan.LOL
Should have done it long time ago before the Edmond Fitzgerald sunk.
Pretty sure it would have the opposite effect on climate-colder winters and hotter summers.
Less lake effect snow though.

Large bodies of water make for milder winters nearby, draining the lakes wouldn’t make it milder.

I can actually see this idea proposed though. Lol

We just simply drain them over the rocky mountains, seems simple...

A siphon out of Lake Tahoe would work. 3-4 times as much water as Lake Mead. Big pump to get it started.

I think the folks in tn the Tug Hill, NY area would disagree with you. They average about twenty feet of lake effect snow annually because of Lake Ontario.

Eh...wot?

No Lugnut, they never seen snow like that before UNTIL she i will not mention(think feline woman) moved up there! Her first winter there them poor folks didn't get to go anywhere for 6 of them due to 100 ft snow drifts everywhere, lol.

I imagine we can just sell California to Canada if we ever need to pay off the debt.

I don't know how we got on the subject of water but a siphon into lake Meade and lake Powell would work. Tahoe is 6000 feet above sea level. Has more than twice the water of Powell and Meade combined. Powell is 3500 feet above sea level and Meade is 1000. The water is there. Drought will end eventually.

I think your vastly overestimating the ability to siphon water over extreme height differentials

You may be right I'm no engineer. IMO the obstacle is CA tree hugging politics.

The same thing preventing nuclear sea water desalination plants. Millions of people living in a desert. Drought happens to everyone time to time. Its lack of foresight seems to me.

I didn’t see this posted before and I think it has merit to post here as the U.S. help bolster the Japanese economy here’s an article.

My grandpa said in 1970 one day they’ll have to wipe the slate clean and print new money, I was 6 years old then and haven’t seen it but I’ll say this our money has no buying power so it is what it is

A 1964 quarter today has about 12 dollars worth of of silver. Enough to buy 3 gallons of gas here in KS. In 1964 it would buy one. Gives a pretty good idea IMO how much the dollar has lost value.
