I got mine in 5 gallon buckets with a sealed lid in the hay loft. It must be 100% dry to store like this. Had a couple buckets three years old that were still fine that I opened last year.
Not sure how other folks do it. We have a lot of humidity here all summer

I keep mine in big blue plastic barrels with air tight lids.

Along this same subject line, I have found that a good way to dry sifted peat without a lot of extra work is place it in large tubs in your attic with the lid off. Every week or so, mix it up good to allow it to continue to dry. After a month or so during the hot summer months, you will have a good supply of dry peat.
