I just got to wondering how many small churches, or for that matter, large churches, still have choirs? They seem like a thing of the past. This was our men's choir today, a church of about 100 folks.

Wow a third of the church!

Only about 20 members left in our church. No choir anymore but we did have one when we had 100 members.
We're grateful that we still have an organist

We still have one. It's a large church. We also have an orchestra. Lots of young people from Auburn University are in both. The music program is a big plus for me. I thoroughly enjoy being in it.

My parents church is a small church. They still have a choir, but it is mostly youth. My wife, my girls and myself used to sing with them at Christmas, but they don't really have specials anymore.

I would settle for live music period. I miss it terribly.

We had 18 people today. Not unusual to have no organist and Carol leads the singing a capello. There is an altar boy that never misses. Never.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Yep, nearly a third. The only ones sitting listening are the women and us guys who can't carry a tune (or sing in Russian).

I've heard that church attendance has not rebounded in many chueches after covid. Anyone experience that in their church? Ours had no change either during or after. The youth are very active; nice to see.

Our church attendance tanked before covid. And so did the other local churches i know of. I go to a Lutheran church.
Even a few of the larger Catholic Churches in surrounding towns have shut their doors.
We have Bible study with another Lutheran church a town away. So we can have a few more people interacting.

We have live music, a piano player a bass and 2 guitars, however the pastor leads our music as well he invites who ever on stage that wants to sing. Usually have about 7 to 10 go sing back up as a choir. Only been about 1 to 3 here lately.
