I posted 5-6 weeks ago about 17 turkeys taking up residence on my property. I've been feeding them daily ever since. Right now I'm in my recliner watching 11 feed 80 yards away. I know there are a few more roaming around. Very low densities here. Hunted a lot of days this spring and only heard 1 at 1/2 mile. I've dumped corn, soybeans and sunflower seeds. They show a remarkable preference for the SF seeds.

They really like dried dog food too, lol

got them here all year round, as many as 30 when they gang up in the winter....they tame up fast, got a couple walk up onto the deck and bang on the slider door to tell us we're not stocking the buffet fast enough...Corn is the mainstay but you're right, they like sunflower seeds a lot...put a water bowl out for them, they enjoy a drink after eating...

Here, they are aggravating, filthy pests. Can't hardly run them off. They'll eat anything that ain't nailed down. I like them when they keep their distance. But they eat more than my livestock.

I don?t know much about wild turkeys but I know the domestic ones are pretty dumb.
I was tearing down an older , small greenhouse that had been destroyed by a storm.
I was placing the nuts and bolts in a coffee can and the dummies were trying to eat them.

My back yard looks like it belongs on tobacco road ,so the turkeys can't mess anything up, lol..I can't say these things are Ivy league scholars...but they come readily for food so I guess they're not completely stupid...
