How many of you drink this stuff?
Opened a new trail today and took some cedar home, boiled up some tea. I added a bit of syrup to this cup, but I think I?ll try honey in a few days. Sure is strong!

Taste like turpintine?

Never tried it. I tried Juniper berries once, forget what that tea is supposed to be good for, but it'd have to be something both lethal and painful for me to drink much of it. Pretty sure turpentine is the diluted version of that tea.

Can?t quite put my finger on it, but it?s potent. Turpentine comes from evergreen sap & wood but has entirely different compounds in it.
It?s supposed to be an anti inflammatory, good for circulation and respiratory tract amount other stuff.
I think I boiled it a bit too long and will probably cut it with some water.

You made it way too strong JakeYou only need a few sprigs for a quart.Dont harvest it from the side of roads,get it back in the bush along a river or creek.
Very good medecine and if you take a cup in the evening before bed you will sleep like a baby.
High in vitamin c.Immune system booster also.
No more than a mug 3 times a week.Active ingredient is Thujone same as absinthe.
I like to drink it in winter or occasionally in summer to help get a restful sleep.I take mine with a spoon of brown sugar,the wife likes it with honey.

Copy that Boco, this stuff is friggin stiff! I?ll probably do a 1/4 cup of tea cut with 3/4 water on Friday. This was trimmed off a tree about 20yds into the bush off the road, and we haven?t sprayed this area with herbicide in probably forever, but it will be getting hit next spring/summer. I gave it a good rinse before boiling.

I like to make tea with Labrador tea. I’ve seen where people make a black tea like drink with cured and dried fireweed leaves, and I’d like to try my hand at that some time

Tamarack tea is also good medicine when the fresh green needles are picked in spring.They can be dried for later use.
Labrador tea very popular here too,it grows everywhere.Spruce tea has good amount of vitamin C but is strong taste.Will keep you from getting scurvy though if on a winter meat diet if cedar is not available.
If the vitamin c is the primary benefit you are looking for steeped is better than simmer or boil.
