I have 2500 miles on oil change, the cable dipstick can be hard to get a good reading, so it appears about 1/2 way on cross hatch area, I added 3/4 quart, now 1 side of dipstick shows overfull an other side don't, if I overfill by 3/4 quart, could u damage motor? It holds 6 quarts in Silverado when full

Your good . From one end of the hatch to the other end of the hatch..is one quart.

So you were down 1/2:of a quart...and you put 3/4:quart in...

So it's only over filled by 8 ounces...no big deal

I have over filled by a quart more than once on Silverado 5.3 liter and tacoma 4 liter with no issues. 340,000 miles on the chevy and 270,000 on the tacoma. you will be fine

Dave. If it read a little low and you added 3/4 of a quart, there is no way you are 3/4 of a quart over full. Or the dipstick would have read full before you put the 3/4 of a quart in. Don't worry about it and walk around the block, will be good for your head, and your knee. G.

Should have put half the oil on one side of the dipstick and half on the other side.

unless you are like way high over an inch over the full line , you will be fine , if it is near the line you are good , remember you have to be able to climb a hill and not have an issue , even with the steepest of hills in DBQ you are not past it's limit

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
