So I used to use paypal but havent used it for years. Got an email the other day saying I had used paypal to buy a gun but I didnt. If I ignore it will it go away? Can paypal take money out of my account wirhout my knowledge or how does that work?

I you can not use paypal to buy a gun so that should be a definite flag. Might be worth reaching out to paypal directly.

I had an e-mail this morning that said I bought some thing with pay pal for $1299.00 If I bought it, it is already paid for. I didn't even look to see what they said I bought. I delete that kind of thing weekly.

Login to PayPal and check your account.

Just trash can it. Delete or swipe. No worries. Just another scam attempt to make you open it.

This is a perfect reason to never use PayPal.

Of course this is a scam, I get these all the time, and similar ones like; Geek Squad saying that they charged my bank account $499.00. Of course they didn't, but they want me to call them and dispute it. They will happily agree to refund the $499.00.....all I need to do is give them my bank account informarion.

I think these scammers are a good thing. They are getting more and more sophisticated and harder to detect all the time, soon people will want to go to a cash society again or bartering. I am all for the that.

Another thing that points out that this is a scam.. PayPal doesn't do firearms so you can't buy a gun with PayPal without some workarounds

I just got this one five minutes ago. This should instantly register in your brain as a scam. If it doesn't you probably shouldn't be doing any financial transactions other than in-hand cash.

Savell getting banned?? What, you mean the time he got a 1 week ban 2 years ago? That was a mistake, actually. He got banned for something Jbyrd said LOL.

I think you can forward the spam to spoof@paypal.com or something like that.
