I threw mine away. Twice. No repercussions. I did the same and they eventually sent a woman out here to chastise me. I told her "there are two US citizens living here. That's all you to know." She said I could be arrested for not filling out the bogus survey. I said.."go ahead". That's the last I ever heard about it.

Yes they did fly someone out here. She called on a couple other non-compliant individuals ))) Something tells me she didn't make much progress here Golly! I know that kid from Coldspring Texas claimed to be an outlaw but it turns out we have a real outlaw in our midst.

Entertaining thread, I will say. People better pull their head out of there, because AI and Data centers are their future, like it or not.

Exactly right. I don't like it anymore than the guy who used to deliver ice to homes for iceboxes. It's coming whether we like it or not.

Oh I don't think Danny qualifies as an outlaw. Certainly not as reprehensible as that Coldspring guy......... You obviously don't know Danny, LOL.

[quote=spjones]Data centers aren’t required to be on the “grid”
In the future,,less and less will be on the grid
Like everything
There will be winners and losers You mean like small modular nuclear plants? Like the ones they’ve been putting on boats since the mid 50’s? Sure it would take maybe ten small nuculear power plants to power a 1 gig data center and the gubmint is the only ones who has spent endless taxpayer money using them for nearly 70 years. No cost benefit analysis is used in weapons procurement. “The announcement comes as the Trump administration pushes hard to develop the next generation of nuclear power, including billions in loans for large nuclear reactors to meet skyrocketing power demand from data centers and a pilot program to boost advanced reactor designs and projects for military and civilian use. No nuclear microreactors are supplying power to the commercial electric grid in the United States today” Did I mention how this will be subsidize? Eia

Good AI generated response,,,
My point was they don’t need to be on the “grid”
Be it nuclear/gas/ or in space
Spoiler alert:
Everything is subsidized,,,,,
Socialize the costs,,,,,privatize the gains
Dammm Keynesian’s,,,,, printing money/loaning money into the system
Unfortunately it’s the system we live in
Got enough hard assets?

In parsons KS they are digging a hole over a mile deep right now. The plan is to put a small nuclear reactor in the bottom of it.

Nuclear is the future, the Gov. has contracts to use small nuclear plants to power military bases. Supposedly portable nuclear power units that fit on a semi can power up to 300,000 homes. Glad I'm old. I agree, nuclear is the future. However, one must analyze where the uranium comes from for such power generation. I believe you produce less than 1% of the uranium you use. Nuclear doesn’t really fit the we don’t need anything from anybody narrative.
