I was watching a deal on YouTube last night and it had a list of movies that should be remade.-and which actor should play the lead roles
Some did sound interesting ,, but some I thought should be left alone,,, simply because they were a masterpiece in my opinion.
My number one favorite western.. was on the list “ the searchers “
According to the narrator the lead rolled I remember correctly be given to Josh brolin.
I wholeheartedly disagree… John Wayne’s portrayal made that movie and you can never replace the cinematic genius of him standing in the doorway at the end of the film while the sons of the pioneers sing in the background.

Another one was high noon,, with Kevin Costner in the lead role.. I did think it was doable.
Red River with Jeff bridges
She wore a yellow ribbon with Costner again
The gunfighter with Christian bale
The oxbow incident… I can’t remember
There were other ones I can’t recall…
Some westerns that were remade I didn’t care for
True grit, magnificent 7, 3:10 to Yuma but that’s my opinion.

Do you guys have a western that you think would be good as a remake? Who would you choose for the lead?

Any movie that starred John Wayne could be made better without John Wayne.

Seems like they are out of ideas and have to go back to the old ones. Local theater is also showing old movies like jaws.

The remakes generally are not good. BUT I did enjoy the top gun remake when I went to see it with mom.

They just need to come up with some new material. Won't be long they won't be paying actors it will all be AI.

Was Kate trans too? I knew she wasn't much to look at so this may explain it.

I have nothing clever to put here.

You don't like "The Duke"?
And here I thought you were a decent human being.

Sorry Sam, but I never understood the fascination with the guy.

What 160 User said. I hate John Wayne anything. Don't know how he got so over-rated. Randolf Scott was better.

In general, I don't think any movies should be remade.

None of them. Remakes usually suck.

But look at the eye appeal they have. I am sorry and I didn't mean to turn this into a trapping topic.

The remake of True Grit turned out purdy good.

I think True Grit was much better the second time. Lots of remakes fall short though.

John Wayne as a young and coming actor helped around set got to meet and talk to Wyatt Earp and that's how he based his characters on what Earp told him of the true old west

“The stalking Moon” - Chris Pratt as lead and Jason Momoa as Silvaje.
“Jeremiah Johnson” - Josh Brolin would work here I think.

Randolph Scott, John Wayne, James Stewart all good westerns and Clint had some good ones.

Mel brooks was a genius,, made a movie intentionally on how stereotypes are but people are so caught up in social justice crap that they would completely miss the whole point

I think it's a great idea.
Just think with all those liberal heads exploding , we would have to open more mental institutions .
Get them off the streets and maybe get them thinking straight .
LOL It won't work , they're too far gone.
