My six month old puppy was barking out in the front yard one night. Went out to see and he had his head down biting at something. Walked out there with a flashlight and he was on top this copperhead. Fortunately, the snake was in the process of eating a cicada and couldnt bite him

Buddy had a Blue tick Coon hound got bit by a Copperhead. Leg swelled up at the Bite site. Took it to the vet and he gave it a shot, lanced it and cleaned it. When he lanced it we could smell that stink in the next room. Dog healed up real nice and never even had a limp.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I had a mt cur one night had one bayed in the wood pile. When I walked up to him, he grabbed the snake by the head and ended up getting bit under the tongue. It was a Fri night at 10 pm. Fortunately, we had a vet that would come to clinic at night. Dog was limp when I carried him in and wasnt sure he hadnt died on trip to vet. Vet said his tongue had swelled up so bad was having difficulty breathing. Gave him a shot and 45 min later he was up and around,

Maybe they are not as bad/dangerous as I thought? Only one my family has delta with was in my back yard under a corn hole board. At the time my youngest was around 7 and would grab every snake he saw. Luckily his older brother by 2 ye a rs was with him holding the board up so the youngest could get to the snake. The oldest stoped him saying I think that may be a bad one we beter get mom and be sure.

My wife confirmed it was a copper head. Mouth still trying to bite fangs visible after head removal. So I told her to put in the Wood burner to avoid the kids geting bit by a dead snake if curiosity got the better of them later. Naturally I was away at work at the time.

Did you slip on your wife’s shoes to go out yonder and step on that little ole snake?
Surely a hairy chested man wouldn’t wear them slip on penny loafers.
Probably got R and L on the bottoms.

we (about 3 of us) walked within 2 feet of one about 3 times and never knew it until we were about done; unloading groceries from a vehicle.

generally speaking...they just want to be left alone.

I can appreciate that!

She must be tougher than she is smart. Is that the Dixie dig I've seen pictures of?
