Going through some coins yesterday and found an envelope of 20 half dollars. The envelope was marked mostly silver coins. Silver coins make a distinct sound when banged together and these coins definitely sound like they are pure silver coins. BUT, the are not 1964 or older coins. They are dated 1967 and 1968. If you look at the sides of the coins they look like almost pure silver but you can see a little discoloration on them but not much.

Does anyone possibly know anything about coins similar to these? Are they worth more than 50 cents? Thanks for any info.

Thank you!!!

So they should be worth a fair bit more than 50 cents.

Today, each of those has $9.75 in silver, melt value maybe 80-90% of that.
