The small coni spring eye problem is one I've heard from time to time on here. I was adding a second spring to some #110s and I couldn't set them not even the first notch. So I compared a #110 spring to a #120 spring and I located the issue.

This is what a #110 spring eye looks like

A little bending and it fixed that problem, but I still couldn't set the trap
I looked closely at the pieces and how they were moving against each other and had an idea
[Linked Image]
This is the problem. The spring eye would seat right against that flat end of the jaw

With the angle grinder I fixed that problem also

So I think those conis with the small eyes that are hard to set can be fixed with a few minutes and an angle grinder

Let's see what you've come up with

The last batch of springs came already centered properly, but the first 4 dozen needed bending. This will allow for narrower box slots.

Bridger 330s are notorious for those little eyes. I talked to a guy at Bridger last year and asked him if they were going to fix that issue and he said the new ones will have the bigger eyes. I haven’t looked since. Have they fixed it?
